Thanks to Brass Goggles, I now know about Abney Park. Why didn't I already know about these folks? I was prepared to like them based entirely on the steampunk guitar and microphone in that Brass Goggles post and the photo on the front page of their website (because I'm shallow like that a big fan of that particular aesthetic) but I really like the couple of tracks that I've downloaded from their website so far. (Obviously I'm way behind the curve with this discovery, but that's okay.)

Convergence has definitely crossed my mind, although at the moment it's financially impossible. Still trying to figure out if it can be done.

Yes, actually gaaneden is how I found out about them, about a year ago. They're pretty good, and apparently all the members are on LJ!
