That's one word for it, anyway.
I was at Best Buy on Tuesday night and there were already five or six people in tents outside the building, waiting for the Playstation 3 (and they're not alone). Not really caring enough about $600 game consoles to keep up with such things, I didn't realize at the time that it doesn't actually get released here until tomorrow. Sheesh. At least today's tornado watch and severe thunderstorms should keep them from getting too bored.

Date: 2006-11-16 07:56 pm (UTC)I'd never do it myself (why sleep on the streets for a week to drop $600 on a console that only has two remotely interesting-seeming games out), but it's no crazier and actually more understandable to me than camping out for weeks for Star Wars movie tickets. At least in this case, if you're lucky enough to be one of the first hundred or so people in line you'll get out of there with a new game console/Blu-Ray DVD player; in the latter case, you just ended up with tickets to a really disappointing movie. ;)
