Can't get a gmail account because I already had a Google account (without mail) under brian1789, and Google will neither grant the old account mail, nor let me create a new mail account with that name...

So, what's the advantage to Vox? Not that I really want an account there; I can barely keep up with LJ. But I'm curious about why so many people seem to be jumping to Vox.

Mostly I have an account so I could snag my username in case I do want to start using it on a regular basis. It's more like a traditional blog than LJ is: there's not really the concept of "communities" like there is here, comments aren't threaded. One thing I like about it is it's easy to incorporate media links into your posts (like books, music, and videos) if you're blogging about them. One thing I absolutely hate about it is they require you to use their rich-text formatting editor, there's no way that I've found yet to enter HTML by hand like you can with LJ posts.
