geekchickHey, something good to come from DCist other than presale passwords. ;) (I kid -- I read DCist regularly, even though I already get the passwords by virtue of being on the 9:30 Club's mailing list. ;))
They recently posted a review of an EP by a local group called The Vita Ruins; after reading this, I was inspired to go brave MySpace (*shudder*) to go check them out. Their entire EP is available streaming and one of the tracks is available for download. http://myspace.com/thevitaruins

They're playing at Galaxy Hut next Saturday, opening for the Skydivers. I've put it on my calendar along with John Eddie the night before.
