10-second commentary: Häagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate

Completely mediocre.

Wait, that's not even 10 seconds. Okay, expanding on that: way too much "fudge swirl" (bleah), the "hint" of cinnamon is completely undetectable, and there's nothing even remotely resembling chile in it. It's okay chocolate ice cream, but it's not even close to what I was hoping for.


Speaking of mediocre, I'm thinking tonight might be an okay time to go see Tokyo Drift. I haven't seen either of the previous two movies, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing resembling a backstory I need to know. ;) I harbor exactly zero illusions that there's anything like a coherent plot, I'm going to see it to watch the drifting. (I'm thinking of maybe using the free tickets we got from the local swank theater when a bulb on a projector burned out 15 minutes into "Poseidon", assuming we can on opening weekend. Even with the eye candy, I'm sure "free" is about the right price for this flick.) [Edit: It's not showing at the place we have free tickets, and it was completely sold out at the theater we went to, so it was "Nacho Libre" instead.]

nminusone, you wondered how bad it would be? Apparently they do a Skyline GT-R conversion on a '67 Mustang fastback in one evening. *cough*

They've been massively over-hyping this movie at the theaters for months and on the tube locally over the past few weeks. It's so bad that when we turned on the TV this evening, before the picture even came on, that betnoir recognized the commercial from the over-amped music they were playing.

Didn't see it, it was completely and totally sold out. Too bad, as I was in the mood for some utterly mindless fun and eye candy. We saw "Nacho Libre" instead, to which I say "Eh."

Thanks for the 10 second (or less) review as every time I see an ad for the Mayan chocolate ice cream (and it's in every magazine this month and last), I wonder if it's any good. I figured there really wouldn't be enough cinnamon or spice for my tastes.

We're trying a Twins variety ice cream from Kemps with chocolate and malt flavoring. I won't be reviewing it since there's no way I could come close to the hilarious reviews by Batgirl and company. Plus it's a regional thing, I'm sure, for our little baseball team.

I would've been happy if I could taste any cinnamon at all. I was tempted to just go add some of my own. =)

On the other hand, I have an ice cream maker and Penzey's, I bet I could make something that would have enough cinnamon and spice in it. Hmm....

Reminds me of the time you and I went to see Mortal Kombat mostly to watch cute buff
sweaty Asian boys with their shirts off. Yay eye candy!

Yeah, that and the soundtrack were the only possible reasons to see Mortal Kombat. =)
