geekchickI've obtained two tickets for Spamalot thanks to those evil folks at DCist and their habit of posting pre-sale passwords. It's worth a shot, but from my checking around I'd say it might make for better seats if you wait for the general on-sale date; Saturday evening ticket selection was not very good (bad seats or OMGexpensive, and some were both) for most of the dates I checked. Weeknights had a larger selection. For a good chuckle at folks who have absolutely NO sense of perspective, check out the comments at DCist from people pissed off that they have posted (or in this case linked to someone else's post) pre-sale passwords to shows that otherwise only the 100,000,000 *true* fans on the 9:30 Club's mailing list would've gotten.
Tonight a friend that I haven't seen in a good long while is in town, and we're planning on having dinner. Now I just have to figure out where we should go; maybe Sushi Taro in Dupont Circle, assuming I can manage to get in to town at a reasonable time. I love it when I can maintain a comfortable friendship with someone I used to date. I refer to him as one of my favorite exes for good reason. Er, by which I mean that we get along exceedingly well. Can't wait to find out how the move from the Bay Area to balmy Massachussetts in mid-winter went. ;)

nminusone will be off visiting a friend. I may go out Friday to see Lez Zeppelin (an all-girl tribute band), but that will depend entirely on my energy and motivation levels. If I had to decide right this second, I'd say "nope, too worn out and cranky". The rest of the weekend will be devoted to housecleaning, possibly having a couple of friends over for dinner one night, mailing out some long-overdue packages and lounging around in my flannel PJs as much as possible. Exciting, no?
In my copious spare time (which I'd actually have if I could stop compulsively reloading my friends page), I've decided that I should pick up a new language and maybe dust off my extremely rusty Spanish and Italian.phinnia mentioned FrenchPodClass and I've been half listening to the first couple of lessons in the office. I've decided that if I get my credit card debt paid down I'm going to go to Paris next spring (it's a bit late and I'm a bit too broke for this year), and I'd feel better if I could speak at least some basic French. I've been feeling like my brain is definitely slowing down and I'm not learning things as easily anymore, so maybe a bit of mental exercise will help with that. If I was really ambitious, I'd take up Japanese, but I'm not quite there yet.
