Quick, somebody convince me I don't need this.

(I don't, I really don't. When would I ever wear it? I'm trying to get rid of impractical stuff. It would be covered in unremovable cat fur in 15 seconds.)

It's beautiful. If you need some fabulous and it works out financially et al, get it and wear it around because it make you happy.

Plus, there's lint brushes.

You always find the coolest clothes!

Enabler!

You need
You need in green (think it would look better on you)
but only if you clean out a bunch of other stuff and have the $$$$

Then you come up here for a weekend, I'll have my outfit by then and we can do something I've never done and go to the opera.

You do need that. Cat fur brushes off... eventually. :-)

Well duh!! ;-)

He's really good at helping pick out clothes (he's even been known to tell me when something doesn't suit me)

Thank you soooo much for posting this -- my girlfriend loves victorian finery and I promised that she would get some goodies along those lines at some indeterminate point in the future.

This makes it so much easier.

Opera? *perk* Do tell.

It's something I've never done and always wanted to. One of my goals is to get out to things like the theater, symphony and stuff along these lines.

Most of the people I know are not into any of that so it makes it very difficult to get motivated.

Go for the gown. And you might be able to get the riding jacket in a pattern that matches some of the punk/plaid type skirts I've seen @ Torrid.

I knew you would be, 'tis why I brougth it up.

We need to plan a NY trip at somepoint and hit the shows.

As for the Opera I would have no idea where to begin to look (probably another reason I haven't gone).

Yes, he is. Although I'm happy to lend him out, providing there's a suitable damage deposit...

Well, if you want to be talked out of it, that first thing gave me a big old yawn. I'm not at all clear it'd flatter your figure either. The gown is the only one I actually like; I think that's quite nice. Get one that matches the purple wig o'sassiness and go see Marie Antoinette.

If you're just looking to spend $500 on clothes I can find a lot of other things I'd much rather see you in. And some of them you could even wear without needing a costume ball to go to!

Among all the links, I like the riding jacket best. :-)

You could have a form, like with rental cars, where you mark the existing damage before he goes out and any (hopefully!) new damage after he comes back...

And I could tell you about the 4-color rule but I might get in trouble with [livejournal.com profile] geekchick.

You have a four-color rule too? Damn, I thought I'd invented that one for [livejournal.com profile] free_of_whip.

You did, I meant you! I was halfway thru typing that when I realized I wasn't sure if that kind of content was ok... so I left it awfully vague. :)

It's a pretty high damage deposit - I bruise easily (physically, anyway). ;-)

I'll have to ask you about the 4-color-rule when I'm out there in May :-)

How many of them could she wear in public?

From: [identity profile] nminusone.livejournal.com
Plenty of them! You can wear most anything in public as long as you have something on over it.

Actually for $500 I'm sure there'd be a couple perfectly mundane items too. But even if there weren't you can wear pretty much anything on the outside nowadays if you're careful. Which brings me to something I never thought I'd say: Thank you Madonna!
