Jan. 5th, 2006 04:11 pmThings I want out of this year:
- To feel excited about my job again, or to figure out what it really is I want to do when I grow up.
- To find something I'm excited to study and learn about; I miss that "y'know, this is REALLY COOL" feeling that I used to get when I found something that interested me.
- To try to develop my creativity; I know I have some somewhere, I just need to coax it out.
- To get my debt under control and paid down. Can't pay it all off this year, but I can make some progress on it.
- To actually use all of my PTO this year (other than sick leave).
- A fishing trip.
- Travel.
- To finally coordinate schedules with a friend after a year and a half of trying (on and off).
- To live someplace that feels comfortable and doesn't have major structural damage.
- That my pets have no more major medical issues.
- To keep the major depression at bay.
- To feel comfortable in my skin.
- To conquer my phobia and save up to get the dental work that I need done.
- To try to be less of a hermit and be more social.

Date: 2006-01-05 09:19 pm (UTC)The second one is the most troubling for me - I've always been a learner, and right now nothing's calling out to me. I'm pretty burned out on keeping my MCSE updated, and I am kinda-sorta interested in learning linux, but I'm really getting burned out on the whole IT thing. Maybe I should go back to programming :-)
Sheesh, it is all about me, isn't it ;-)
When you figure out how to do these two, or get inspired, please share :-)

Date: 2006-01-05 09:37 pm (UTC)Exactly! I hate it too. I've never really been one to dive really deeply into anything in particular, I tend towards broad and shallow, but there's not much right now that I can even get inspired to dig into even that much.
If I figure it out, I'll share if you promise to do the same. =)

Date: 2006-01-05 10:53 pm (UTC)What kind of fishing? I never knew that that interested you. Except perhaps in mountain streams around Colorado Springs...
