DCist offers some helpful tips (along with a great title) for attending Beaujolais Nouveau uncorking parties, some of which you can find listed here.

Duboeuf created the wine world’s equivalent of Krispy Kreme’s flashing “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign. Each November, right after the Beaujolais wines from that year’s grape crop were bottled, Duboeuf began proclaiming that “Le Beaujolais Nouveau Est Arrivé!”—or, “The New Beaujolais Has Arrived.”

Wine wholesalers, retailers, restaurants and drinkers didn’t stop to wonder whether they’d even been waiting for it. They simply bought it and drank it.

Since I never quite got around to uncorking the bottle I bought last year, I'm thinking I might just pass. Unless one of you fine folks is really interested in getting together to drink wine at midnight.

I just got email from Chefshop.com explaining that I can have fresh-pressed olive oil FLOWN IN from Italy at the beginning of December. I'm tempted to throw a fresh-pressed olive oil party.

It's probably past it.

Nouveau is meant to be drunk young, the rule of thumb is never after Easter.

The other thing, on this side of the water you probably want to wait until after New Years, to let it settle.
