Today's headline from the print version of The Washington Post:
Bush Says War Is Worth Sacrifice
I'm sure the families of the 1900+ coalition casualties so far would all agree, not to mention the thousands of Iraqis that freedom has marched right over. Nothing says "You've been liberated from oppression, isn't life so much better now?" quite like suicide bombers and assassinations.

Date: 2005-06-29 05:34 pm (UTC)Mr President, does that tell you anything?
I agree with the Puppet to this extent: we can't just cut and run now (as, it would appear, conservatives like Rep. Freedom Fries now want to). We've started it, we have to do whatever it takes to leave the coutnry at least as stable as it was when we invaded. But at the same time, I want some accountability. I want this president out of office; I want the people who planned the war out of a job, with no future in policy work, ever again. I want to see Bush signing letters to the families of men his war has killed. And I want to see people who are coming back with wounds and with PTSD treated like the heroes they are, with proper healthcare and pensions, even if they are "only" reservists.
I'm afraid, however, that I'm not going to see any of those things.
