I think I've found my nephew's Christmas present. (Remember, I live about 900 miles away. *grin*) You really can get anything on Amazon these days.

Okay, those are too much for an 8 year old, he wouldn't be able to handle them I don't think. This, however, sounds about right. ;)

Nephew, schmephew. I wouldn't mind a set of Highland pipes. :-)

You had to find the weak point in my nefarious plan, didn't you? ;-)

Just get him the chanter, then in a few years, get him the full set of pipes. He'll get practice in the meantime with the junior version, which doesn't sound terribly pleasant either, although it doesn't have the carrying power of Highland pipes.

Oh, you are EVIL! And I agree with the other poster who said just get the chanter set to start with. Much more tolerable.

And just FYI, although they certainly have good selection, my musician friends tend to refer to Lark as "Shark in the Morning" because their prices are so bad. You might want to run some cost comparison shopping on the web before purchasing.

8 years old? Hm... do you think Allegra might similarly enjoy those?

hmmm need to start looking into stuff like that for our niece. But considering that she is only six months old, the pipes are a bit much.

What would you suggest?
