I admit that I wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped to be when I watched it, but I think the humor is growing on me.

I never felt it was over my head, but I did initially feel like I wasn't getting it *at all*. If I had not heard anything about it I would have just figured it wasn't very funny, but given the reviews I knew there must have been something there.

The more I think back on it, and the more I'm reminded of it, the funnier it seems. I need to see it again now, to see if it makes more sense this time.

Last week I was talking to a friend of mine about Super Milk-chan and I accidentally gave him a suggestion on how to enjoy that show: take pleasure in their suffering. I think the same might apply to enjoying ND, though not in such a cruel and brutal way. I'm not saying that's the only humor or virtue of the movie, just that I think it's one way to get a handle on some of the humor there.

Well, I'm famous for having most humor go over my head (it's an Aspie thing). Yet I thought this movie was hilarious, to the point where it's one of my favorite films of all time! Napoleon reminds me so much of myself -- maybe that's why I liked it so well.
