Dec. 25th, 2004 01:50 amThings that are making me happy at the moment:
Stripey Christmas knee socks:

Nifty yarn and a cute and toasty down blanket. The blue/purple in the back is Lion Brand Homespun and the pink/purple stuff is Joann's Confetti (and wow, is that a bitch to work with).

New toys. I'm not sure what it says about me that I'm equally tickled by a teddy bear dressed in a velvet dress and an Eomer action figure. If any of you felt like dropping Karl Urban all decked out as Eomer under my tree, by the way, I wouldn't complain.

Gateway. Except for right now, where he's in trouble for biting my wrist when I tried to pull my arm out from under him so I could type. (The wallpaper and ugly drapes? Not my fault. I swear.)

A 45 minute phone call with an ex I haven't actually had an in-person conversation with for something more than ten years. (Is that right, Bill? Or did we talk around the time my mother died? Yeesh, my memory is terrible.) Good times. I'm glad he was silly enough to include his cell number in the .sig of an email. I told you I'd use that knowledge only for good. ;) No picture to attach to this one right yet, but if anyone's dying to see me circa late 1989, I might dig something out later.
Things making me the opposite of happy right now:
Dropping the pumpkin pie I've been craving for literally months face-down on the floor while taking it out of the oven and having it explode all over the kitchen.

My turn I guess
Date: 2004-12-26 03:09 am (UTC)This Xmas is by its total lack of Xmas icons in my home probably the lease emotional one I've ever had. There were no icons last year but last year I tried to serve myself a little xmas cheer and still ended up flat on my face. This time I didn't even try and I think it worked out better.
So thank you for serving me an Xmas moment. It is appreciated even if I don't sound very cheerful. And sorry to hear about your pie. And here's a tip. Do what I do plan on cooking two or three pies then you will always remember the one or two that didn't hit the floor :-)
