It was as entertaining as I expected it to be.

Extended commentary: There were some really funny lines. It wasn't *good*, but it wasn't as terrible as, say, "Van Helsing", which went so far past bad that it headed back into good territory...and then kept on going back towards bad again. You need to not think about things too closely though, or else you'll want to yell at the screen.

There was a teaser trailer for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", supposedly coming in May. From Disney. There was also a preview for "Son of the Mask", to which I say, "Why, God, WHY did you have to let Alan Cumming and Ben Stein be in that movie??" Alan Cumming as Loki, and at least a cameo from Ben Stein. Damnit. If it weren't for that, I'd have been able to safely ignore it and now I have to at least cringingly consider renting it.

omgSOTRUE. I rented that with a friend recently, and the only reason we finished watching it was that the red wine I was drinking interfered significantly with my taste and she was enjoying my reactions.

Ben Folds and Rufus Wainwright, "Careless Whisper (Live)"

I'm listening to the same disc!

What disc is that on? I saw them do this live a few months back and it was so great. I NEED to relive this! :-)

It's on a mix CD - part of a swap [livejournal.com profile] geekchick put together. I can try ripping it for you, if you like...

i seem to be in the surreal land of "huh, nahme" lately. I sort of liked van helsing. it had ome good moments to it, it was visually fun to watch... i wouldn't rank it as 'high entertainment' by any stretch, but i didn't find myself groaning out loud.

LXG - that one was totally cyclical. Some stuff i thought was magnificent (the portrayal of Nemo and the Nautilus. Ah, I want that ship. And Jekyll and Hyde were wonderful), but then mix that with the -total- idiocy in the general plot. Eeeeyiiikes.

anyway. i think I snuck into van helsing somewhere. I got the DVD, maybe i'll watch it again and see if it was as bad as everyone is telling me it is ;)
