geekchick: (insomnia)

Brain-fried due to five hours of fighting with stupid CD drive and operating system, culminating in reinstallation of Win2K and eventual victory. Ha HA! Now I can get my mix CDs burned and start packing them up. Fear my awesome CD-burning power! (Big tangent: we had joked about getting decals made up that say "Feel the awesome power of my exhaust leak" in kanji for all those little boys buzzing around with coffee cans stuck on the tailpipes of their Civics. Since the type most inclined to add chrome exhaust tips bigger than their heads to the family sedan are also the type least inclined to have the slightest idea what that sticker they're slapping on their car actually says so long as it *looks* cool, you know we could probably sell a ton of them.)

Speaking of mix CDs: still waiting on two sets, one of which I know has been mailed already. I'm going to pack up what I've got over the weekend and start mailing them out and if anything comes in after that, it will just got out separately.

A night of fighting with Windows followed by insomnia keeping me up until 4 AM and then having a day that's entirely cold and dark and rainy is not making me want to be productive. Getting a blanket and taking a nap under my desk, that's what I want to do. Too loopy to touch a lot of code today I think, so for my own sanity I'll keep working on documentation. I expect that I'll have to go back and edit documentation two or three times, and it's not like any stream-of-consciousness I put in the draft will cause anything to break in an astounding manner.

This weekend I think will be devoted to packing up stuff to send out to people (will get in touch with a couple of you who need shipping quotes), culling the closet and bins some more, and trying to take a break from sitting in front of my computer all night. Also it's time to give some thought to time off next month, as I need to submit requests soon. Hopefully I can manage a trip someplace with C., a couple days by myself, and a little time around Christmas. I think I have a week and a half or so of time to use up, and so long as it's not around Thanksgiving I think there's a good chance of getting approval.

Okay, back to work.

I need to start checking online just in case you're still up at 4am... after about 11pm here, I usually don't even look for you there. Although better still would be less insomnia for you (hug).

And as far as exhaust tips go... there's a reason why I don't have the "5.0" badges on my Mustang. It is great fun to be underestimated... especially by said "rice-boys" in their stickered Civics at some light, revving while thinking I have just some battered anemic 4-cylinder Ford... as though anyone not tone-deaf couldn't tell the difference. Heh. Fun-fun-fun.

I love the idea of those stickers

I might even buy one for my 23 year old Subaru. It only has one sticker on it and it reads "Honk if parts fall off". I realize your intent does not match my application but it would still be amusing, sort of like adhereing a "Black and Decker" sticker to a Netgear Router.
