Amazon.co.uk kindly provided me with my copy of "Shaun of the Dead" today. Time to find out if the region-free hack really works on my DVD player.
Note to self: no matter how perfectly the song goes with the ambient conditions, don't listen to Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah" seven times in a row while driving home again. Once, maybe twice, would've been just fine. Try counteracting it with something light and poppy, like "Brimful of Asha".

Date: 2004-10-05 10:41 am (UTC)There should be no need to rip it, as the whole reason I bought this particular player (we already had the DVD recorder) was that it had an easy region-free hack. Haven't tried it yet myself, didn't feel like hooking the player up last night, but there've been plenty of confirmations that it works elsewhere.
