On Friday, July 2, 2004, Microsoft is releasing a configuration
change for Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003, to
address recent malicious attacks against Internet Explorer, also
know as Download.Ject. More information is available at
www.microsoft.com/presspass.

Windows customers are encouraged to apply this configuration change
immediately to help be protected from current Internet Explorer
exploits. The update is available on Windows Update.

As referenced in joedecker's entry, yet another good reason to use Firefox or Safari instead of IE... lack of genetic diversity leaves biological populations susceptible to being wiped out by one bug. The same would be reasonable in computing populations...

Sure, except that as far as I know Safari doesn't run on Windows. ;) I use Firefox, but I'm forced to also use IE for many sites whose designers only code for IE, and for testing purposes since the majority of our site traffic comes from users on IE.
