Today is Pungenday, day 65 in the season of Discord, 3270.

Ever notice how nearly the second you hang up the phone after making a doctor's appointment, your symptoms disappear?

[Edit: They came back once I actually got into the office. I still don't know exactly what's wrong, but apparently it's nothing they think a Z-Pak, some Tessalon and some Advair can't fix. As an added bonus, my prescription plan mostly covers the Advair diskus, unlike my Ventolin.]

I usually start feeling a little better when I hang up the phone from making the appointment, but my symptoms usually don't disappear until I'm in the doctor's office.

*hugs* Get better soon! :-)

I think that's called the placebo effect... My Dad (a GP) said there was a 30% placebo effect on anyone who walked in the door.

Of course being a medical brat, I'm immune...

That must be a subset of what I call the "proximity effect", wherein anything functioning outside of normal parameters refuses to exhibit such symptoms in the proximity of anyone capable of repairing/improving said functioning. When I worked in TV production and we would have a problem with a piece of equipment, it would start working when the engineer came in to have a look at it. I've seen the same with computer and photography equipment.

That's cool. When Toni went on Advair, we saw how much those diskuses (diski?) cost normally.

I really glad you had this looked into. And the Advair is a good thing. I still can't believe the prescription plan would not cover Ventolin.

I have it with a lot of consumer electronics and some more professional gear. My dad has it big-time with cars and other more mechanical schtuff.

Make sure you rinse your mouth really well after using the Advair, and don't swallow the water.
