The video for Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" (this is in Real media, the Quicktime version on Mark Romanek's site was a much better quality encoding) reduced me to tears the first time I saw it, and I can't seem to stop watching it. Seeing this frail, old man (and his wife, who'd already died by the time I first saw the video) with interspersed clips of him in his younger days was heartbreaking. I don't have anything particularly profound or moving to say about it, just...watch it if you have a chance.

I found the Johnny Cash version of the song so much more powerful than the Nine Inch Nails...it really confronted mortality in an intense, haunting sort of way. I remember the first time I saw it being overwhelmed, and glued to the tv. I cried when I watched it the other day.

Very moving, and I'm not even a fan of his. Watching it in the context of his death is very powerful. Thanks for sharing the link.
