Apr. 7th, 2003 11:18 pmY'know, this is exactly what I was thinking listening to some of the statements coming from his press conferences:
Black Knight Hired as Iraqi Information Minister
"We are winning, invaders not near Baghdad" among contentions
Iraq has hired the Black Knight as its information minister in a last ditch desperate effort to repel Coalition Forces. At a press conference Friday morning, the knight contended that Coalition Forces are nowhere near Baghdad. "It's an illusion," said the knight. "In fact, we're winning. Just ask Peter Arnett."
Presented with videotape the the Coalition has taken over Saddam Hussein International Airport, the knight defiantly responded "no they haven't".
Other topics commented on:
* Coalition troops occupy the Baghdad airport: "Ha"
* 100,000 Coalition troops are in Iraq: "Nope"
* Entire nation occupied except for Baghdad: "Rubbish"
* Republican Guard dealt fatal blow: "Tis but a scratch"
(from http://www.operationaccountability.com/ , which has a couple of amusing bits)
For the record, my amusement at the information minister's statements have nothing at all to do with my feelings on whether or not we should be there, it's because statements claiming that al-Jazeera is biased in favor of the coalition and that there are no foreign troops in Baghdad just spike my Surreal-o-meter.
