Today is Pungenday, day 48 in the season of Chaos, 3269.

Two of us shoveling for two solid hours has almost gotten my car free. Part of the problem is that we don't have any good place to shovel the snow *to*; there's a driveway on one side of ours and a sidewalk on the other, which means we have to haul all the snow off somewhere else. I've certainly gotten my workout in today.

I miss having snow be purely fun...now it's really pretty for a couple of hours, and then the reality of having to shovel it all out of the way so you can go back to work sets in. Sometimes being an adult sucks.

Augh, I know exactly what you mean. We freed one of our cars, but I think we're just going to leave the other one. Hard!

Bet your fuckin' a it sucks. Rivka and I worked for the whole afternoon, and we've got one car dug out. That's a huge problem with a parking lot -- we brought out laundry baskets so that we wouldn't have to make as many trips lugging snow. I'm so glad that I've been working out in preparation for kayaking this season; my back hurts, but my arms just feel a little rubbery, like I've had a pretty solid workout.

I'm not touching the second car for a while; for now, we're a one-car family. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be back to two cars by this weekend, if you'd like to do something.

C's car is in the garage. =P (Which is why I'm letting him do most of the shoveling. ;) ) If he didn't need to go to work in the morning, I think I'd have just left it and called in "stuck" until the spring thaw. ;) As it is, we got one of those big plastic storage bins and are filling it up and then hauling it to the end of the street to dump it down the hill. Now I just hope they don't come back by with the plows.

Looks like y'all got more than we did; I think the official total at Dulles was 18 inches. There was probably another inch or so on top of what was in last night's pictures.
