We just watched "Meet the Feebles" (which apparently is now out on region 1 dvd), and I think I want to claw my eyes out. Oh god. *twitch* *twitch* *twitch* I knew it wasn't right, but I didn't know how WRONG it was. I would never have seen this movie and thought "Let's give this man Lord of the Rings, I'm sure he'll do it justice." The funny thing is, it's got "from the director of Lord of the Rings" plastered all over it; I wonder how many people who aren't familiar with it will pick it up based on that alone. "Hey, I liked LOTR, so maybe I should watch this. And look, it's puppets, so I bet the kids would enjoy it." *twitch*

But it was so right

Oh yeah. I've seen it once, but I think I might have to add it to my list of DVD's to buy. There's something truly unwholesome about all the scenes shot in the little dungeon that just make me quite happy that I was never a muppet. Jim Henson can't even roll around in his grave enough to get that icky feeling off after he saw this from wherever he is. Either that, or he loved every filthy second. :)

dunno,

I never liked it. And I will admit that I like disturbing things. But I just didn't find it funny.

Most of his movies are like that.

Do not rent DEAD ALIVE (even though it has an awesome line form the kung-fu fighting priest), HEAVENLY CREATURES, or BAD TASTE.

hmmm.... I had been thinking of renting "Heavenly Creatures" because, according to both Leonard Maltin and IMDB.com, one of the young women involved in the murder grew up to be the mystery novelist who writes under the pseudonym Anne Perry, who has written a bunch of mysteries I've read (all set in Victorian England.)

HEAVENLY CREATURES is quite good, but has a lot of disturbing bits in it, with one or two of MEET THE FEEBLES twitchiness.

I enjoyed DEAD ALIVE and BAD TASTE, btu "good" isn't he word I'd use.

Still haven't seen THE FRIGHTENERS, though.

Oh, yeah. "Heavenly Creatures" was awesome. It's one of my favourite movies -- but I like twisted, film noir-ish stuff. See it, see it, see it!
