Today is Prickle-Prickle, day 25 in the season of Bureaucracy, 3268.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday. We made it to The Apothecary before they closed, where I managed to find a tube of lotion which folks have been claiming is the Holy Grail for extremely dry skin. On to the pet store, where we ogled the adorable guinea pigs until realizing that we couldn't buy one since we'd have to leave it in the car for 8 hours. Maybe next time, when we don't have anywhere else to be. Then on to Dupont Circle, where we met up with [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel and [livejournal.com profile] tommx and did some wandering around. [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel fed me a spoonful of Ecstasy, and I got a small taste of [livejournal.com profile] tommx's Libido too. I had a hard time walking up the stairs to leave after that, my knees were weak. (Those were ice cream flavors, people.) We then met up with [livejournal.com profile] anotheranon and D. to go see "24 Hour Party People"; excellent film. It was very, very funny even knowing as I do that I didn't get all the jokes. Lots of Joy Division-y goodness. The soundtrack, naturally, was great. Now I have to go find a way to encode the Paul Young cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart", just so I can inflict it upon my unsuspecting friends. ;) (NO, it was not in the movie, just in case the mere thought was scaring anyone away from seeing it.) Post-movie, we were all joined by a friend of Tom's for dinner, where I realized yet again that I am lucky enough to know some damn cool people.

Today is cool and rainy and my only plans involve perhaps turning on some loud music and cleaning the living/dining room and kitchen, unless C. comes up with a good alternative. I don't think there's anything planned for Monday either, although if someone wanted to make plans I don't think C. and I would object; we're just too lame to think of anything ourselves right now.

I have nothing substantive to add, but I did want to say that your new userpic is really cute.

It's adorable, but it makes me do a double take because she looks so strikingly like my friend Genevieve (http://www.livejournal.com/users/boubabe/) there. Especially the expression. It's what Gen would look like with glasses. Uncanny.

Just for the record, this entire post of mine was pretty much constructed just so that I could say "I got a small taste of tommx's Libido". ;)

Awwwwwwww... and here I was hoping that I could get some credit for spreading some Ecstacy, too. :)

I love the new picture!!!!

Dry Skin Lotion

FWIW, my oldest daughter has very dry skin (poor thing!) and I make salves all winter long, with the most moisturizing ingredients possible. If you want me to send a jar, or you're comming to homeport anytime, let me know and I'll be happy to give you some. It can't "cure" her, from haveing dry skin, but it does keep her from trying to tear her skin open from the dryness. I've still got a few jars in the fridge.
