Today is Setting Orange, day 39 in the season of Confusion, 3268.

Just got back from seeing Great Big Sea, Seven Nations and the Young Dubliners with Chris, [livejournal.com profile] geminigirl, [livejournal.com profile] rivka and [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel. If I was going to write slash, this evening would've provided me with hours of material. (Is that you I hear screaming in the distance, J.? ;) ) As evidence, I point to this. *snicker* GBS gets better every time I see them, it was a fabulous set; I just wish I hadn't been so wilted from the heat so that I could have danced a bit more. Seven Nations was...interesting. The sound was for crap for the first bit of their set (who knew that you could manage to drown out bagpipes??), but once they seemingly got that straightened out a bit, I liked them. The Young Dubliners, however, were incredible. I am so glad that I didn't even contemplate missing the opening act, as I'd have had to kick myself later. I think there's a Tower/Amazon spending run in my future.

Tomorrow will be slack, going to go hang out with some friends. And sleep late. Maybe get some gym time in there too. Friday I will either go hiking out west of here, or I will spend the day in air conditioned comfort watching The Powerpuff Girls movie. Or perhaps both, obviously not concurrently.

*envy*

No worthwhile musical acts ever seem to come out here...

Oh, wow! Great!

Except... I'll be in DC then, 8/12-15. Sigh...

Oh my goodness...

I came across your journal through another friend's friend's journal (try saying that 10 times fast =)) and noticed that you had gone to see Great Big Sea. They played here (San Fran) recently and NOONE at work knew who they were aside from Canadians. Glad to hear you liked the show =)

I didn't realize the Oysters were your favorite band...

I discovered GBS because I was in Borders and they were playing "Rant and Roar" which I asked about because it sounded much like Oysterband...

That's a band I'd do very bad things to see. I heard they had some Canadian dates scheduled...

*sigh* unfortunatly, my plans to go to Canada (for other reasons-not to see the Oysters) got squashed.

I will get to see them eventually, I guess.
