Sep. 11th, 2009 10:57 pmFinally made it to the hotel, eleven hours after I got on the road for reals and eleven and a half after I left the house.
1) The rain was following me, apparently. There was a stretch of about fifteen minutes on 84 in CT where it stopped, otherwise it was raining the whole f'ing time.
2) Note to self: next time, top off the gas tank at Vince Lombardi because gas in CT where I ended up stopping was 30 cents a gallon more expensive.
3) Wow, there are a lot of Megabuses making the NY-Boston run.
4) Missed a turn and ended up on the other side of the river from where I was supposed to be. Refrained from running through a rampaging herd of drunk, soaking wet BU students while trying to recover from my mistake. Also, I did drive past the hotel entrance and nearly had a meltdown (because hi, eleven hours driving in the rain = shot nerves), but the second pass around the block was more successful.
5) Getting in at 10 PM meant that I missed a chance to have dinner with a friend like we'd been planning.
6) I'm voting "tackily awesome" for the hotel room. Leopard print carpets, red velvet chairs, and the provided robes come in either leopard or zebra. My phone doesn't want to send Flickr posts tonight for some reason, so no pics yet.
7) I think I'm gonna fall over and go boom now.
