Yesterday, after two days in a row of not getting more than four hours of sleep and a week of not getting more than six on any given night, I was so tired that I'd given myself a nasty, unshakeable headache. About 8:30 I decided to go take a little 45 minute nap to see if that would help matters any and then we'd go out and get dinner and maybe see a movie.

I just got up. "Oops." I assumed when I saw the clock that Chris had tried to wake me up like I'd asked, but that I was having none of it. Apparently that's exactly what happened. D'oh!

Drinking, Pats?

It's absolutely glorious outside today. I've been running errands for a good chunk of the afternoon, so I don't have time to head to Skyline Drive today; instead, I think I'll finish some stuff around the house and maybe take myself out tonight. I'm thinking this will be a perfect evening to find someplace to sit outside and consume mojitos and/or gin and tonics, and/or something blue. Anyone 1) got any suggestions for such places; 2) want to join me? My first thought was the patio bar at Coastal Flats in Fairfax, but everyone and their grandmother will be parked out there tonight. There's also the "hit the ABC store for supplies and then hang out on the deck" option, almost certain to be less crowded.

Hey, something good to come from DCist other than presale passwords. ;) (I kid -- I read DCist regularly, even though I already get the passwords by virtue of being on the 9:30 Club's mailing list. ;))

They recently posted a review of an EP by a local group called The Vita Ruins; after reading this, I was inspired to go brave MySpace (*shudder*) to go check them out. Their entire EP is available streaming and one of the tracks is available for download. http://myspace.com/thevitaruins

I like.

They're playing at Galaxy Hut next Saturday, opening for the Skydivers. I've put it on my calendar along with John Eddie the night before.
