Today is Pungenday, day 3 in the season of Chaos, 3272.

Last night's weird dream was that I was working for Bruce Schneier as some sort of entry-level assistant-type. What brought that on? I have no idea. I do remember at one point in the dream there was a loud alarm going off during a meeting, and after looking around for the source (and a hammer) to shut it up, it finally sunk in that it was in fact my alarm clock going off. Got up and hit snooze, collapsed back into bed and immediately ended up back in the dream, but this time I was wandering around on snow- and ice-covered streets outside my townhouse in Baltimore, which I had just discovered had been broken in to. (Buh?) Before I could really figure out what was going on, my alarm went off again and I had to actually get out of bed and stay there. Do you know how hard that is on a dark, rainy morning after a four day weekend? Meh.

The other recent-ish dream, which was actually disturbing, was being hugely pregnant, not having done anything at all to prepare for the arrival of a baby, asking my mom for help and support and getting absolutely none. That one, I didn't like so much.

(The subject line refers to the fact that melatonin gives me very vivid dreams; not any more pleasant or unpleasant than they usually would be, but very vivid. Tequila, on the other hand, gives me vivid and utterly f**ked-up dreams, which is why I usually avoid it.)

So close!

United has an e-saver fare from Dulles to Logan next weekend, $147 r/t. Unfortunately, it's for departure on Jan. 14 and return on the 16th or 17th, which is shifted off by a day from what I need.

Right now my plan is to fly up on Friday in early afternoon ($74 including taxes on United o/w via Orbitz, in case anyone else still needs to find a fare) so that I can drop the cat off for boarding and take the train back with [livejournal.com profile] nminusone on Sunday.

Note to self: check with Pender about boarding Friday - Monday morning and whether they'll administer medications.

Next up: buy tickets to Orlando Jan. 16-18. Done.

I've just been reminded that next week is DC Restaurant Week. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm way too late to get reservations at some of these places, but I'm sure I'll try anyway.
