Yikes. I think my previous record for journal-keeping might've been five months, in a paper journal way back in my angst-ridden school days. I found a couple of those notebooks in my last culling of boxes of crap I'd been moving around for years; trust me when I say that you'd probably far rather the silly fluff I mostly post now. Ah, the joys of being able to look back at oneself at 18 or 20 and think "Good lord, I was a twit."
I started this journal mostly to keep up with friends in Boston, and it's ended up introducing me to a whole bunch of really interesting people that I'd likely never have met otherwise in addition to helping keep up with folks I already knew. I even met a couple of sweeties via LJ, although I knew of them from my lurkerdom on Usenet or elsewhere. Now I just have to scrape up vacation time and cash to actually meet some of the rest of y'all in person; imagine something like the Jay & Silent Bob cross-country trip at the end of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike back", but without the door-to-door beatdown delivery thing, because of course I like y'all.
