Re-gifting

An article in the paper yesterday actually made me think of this, it is not inspired by any giftmas pressies that I am aware of. Most of my giftmas contributions were/are baked goods, which (other than bad fruitcake bricks) don't exactly lend themselves well to re-gifting even if one were inspired to do so.

For the folks who said that they wouldn't re-gift but wouldn't mind receiving one if it was thoughtfully given, why would you do one but not the other? Not that I'm making any judgement on such things, I'm just wondering why people consider one okay but the other not. *curious*

Send out big batch of holiday cards (dropped at the post office last night)
Spend way too much money at Michael's and JoAnn on yarn and various parts of coworkers' holiday gifts
Make wreath for the front door with some of the Michael's loot
Start baking loaves of chocolate apple bread so that I'm not up until 2 AM again baking
Make gingersnap dough, which needs to chill overnight (and kick myself for not getting a chance to go to Penzey's while I was in Memphis recently)
Wrap presents for [livejournal.com profile] brian1789 and [livejournal.com profile] patgreene
Get packages for Brian, Pat and my sister in the mail (sort of; first two done, the last one still has to go out)
Figure out what else to get [livejournal.com profile] nminusone
Decide to put off all of the above and spend the evening with a Lush bath bomb, a glass of wine and a book?
