What I got done this weekend:

* Packed up nine packages with 14 CDs for various swaps, addressed them, and they're sitting on the floor here in my office waiting for me to drop them at the post office tonight on my way home.

* Cancelled my Mindspring dial-up account. Waited almost no time on hold and talked to someone with a clue, which was a lovely change from the tech support person I talked to who told me he needed my password in order to help me reset my forgotten password.

That's pretty much it, other than debating where we should put the Christmas tree that doesn't block the fireplace or require furniture to be removed. Spent a lot of time away from email and LJ, but replaced it with sitting down with the new Ratchet & Clank and the Playstation. Hey, it's a start. I really do need to wean myself off being online so much.

I missed out on the chance to meet [livejournal.com profile] crouchback (and a slew of other folks) on Thursday because I spaced on the date and had concert tickets. D'oh. Also didn't get a chance to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] shayde who was down for SMOFcon. (Psst, thought you were going to ping me. ;) )

I don't often remember my dreams, so two in the space of two days seems a bit odd to me. I got very little sleep Sunday night after being woken up after about five hours by disturbing dreams involving frantically rushing around trying to put money in my bank account to cover checks written for more than the $3 my statement said I had; annoyingly, someone I have little use for showed up in the dream, posting all over LJ the fact that I'd just bounced a check to them. While I had transferred some money out of savings into checking this week just to keep a nice padding in my account until Friday (things are not dire by any stretch of the imagination), I'm pretty sure what my brain was chewing on wasn't specifically financial. I think I know what brought Annoying Person into the dream in that particular way, but haven't quite worked out what's really bothering me.

This morning was much more pleasant; the alarm interrupted a dream that involved working with [livejournal.com profile] tafkar and [livejournal.com profile] wispfox on finding appropriate silly titles for mix CD projects. At least I can peg where the CD thing came from. ;) Lots of joking and laughing was involved. Interesting to see [livejournal.com profile] wispfox show up, as to the best of my knowledge I've never actually met her in person.

I need to buckle down and get productive this week, since I'm taking time off early next week to go visit the siblings and then a day at the end of the week to do my holiday shopping, and then have the week after Christmas off. There are a few things like a documentation project on my list that ought to get done by the end of the year; I'm allowing myself a bit of time to goof off today (obviously), but starting tomorrow my plan is to skim LJ once in the morning, maybe for five minutes during my afternoon coffee, and keep that window closed the rest of the day.
