any Quickbooks gurus out there?
Oct. 14th, 2004 12:59 pmIf you happen to know whether and how it's possible to merge two Quickbooks Pro 2004 databases without losing the data in either file, could you give me a ping at my geekchick@lj address? I've SedTFW, but so far the one thing I've seen is "use export and import, but you can't do either with transactions".
Have I mentioned lately that I hate Quickbooks?
[Edit: I found a Data Transfer Utility here. It still seems like you ought to be able to do this within the program itself without having to shell out $100+ for a separate piece of software, but far be it from me to claim to understand how Intuit works. I'll download it and try it out. Meanwhile, I'm off to my happy place with my cherry vanilla tea. Hold my calls.]
[Update: The Data Transfer Utility referenced there is a godsend. The free, unlicensed version only exports/imports two of each data type at a time; luckily there weren't that many entries that needed to be moved and that limit was perfectly acceptable to me.]
