On a less humorous note, we saw "Silver City" this weekend. Dickie Pilager, a Senator's son who's about as sharp as a box of river rocks and flails horribly when he's not on script, is running for Colorado governor with the help ofKarl Rove a pit bull of a campaign manager; his discovery of a corpse in a lake while shooting a campaign ad threatens to derail him if word gets out, and a private investigator is sent out by the campaign manager to have a talk with some people he thinks might just have enough of a grudge to plant something like this. His work for the campaign uncovers clues that end up leading places that Danny, also a former investigative reporter, didn't expect: undocumented migrant workers and coyotes, corporate empires (the "Bentel" corporation *ahem*), environmental regulations, high-priced lobbyists and the ties between all of them. ( Spoiler for the ending; skip if you plan to see it. )
