sleep! and some housecleaning
Oct. 2nd, 2004 01:13 pmFor the first time in months, I managed to go to bed and sleep through the night until the alarm went off at 9:45 (and then again at 11:45 after I turned the alarm off). No waking up looking for antacids two or three times overnight, just 7 (or 9 if you count the post-alarm bit) solid hours of sleep. I can't tell you how much better I feel already.
I'd totally spaced on the fact that theoretically people were supposed to be coming over tonight, so the rest of my day will probably be spent cleaning up and maybe making a big pot of chili. Of course since I've heard nothing from anyone else recently, I'm not sure that I'm not the only one who's forgotten. I also suppose I should go wake C. up, since I think he wanted to go to the pet store in Rockville to get more pine chips for the guinea pig.
Am I the only person on the planet who actually likes to vacuum? I find it relaxing, same with sweeping the floor. (Mopping, not so much though.) I also don't mind loading the dishwasher or doing laundry, but I absolutely hate to put things away. Left to my own devices, I tend to get clean dishes out of the dishwasher for as long as I can get away with not reloading it and get dressed out of a laundry basket.
Okay, I've checked email multiple times, checked my friends page and a good bit of friendsfriends as well, taken my vitamins and caffeinated myself. Time to get moving. I will not get distracted by the ball of chenille yarn sitting by the sofa. I will, however, probably get distracted by a trip to Michael's to get several more skeins of Homespun to try the afghan thing again. This time I'll even pay attention to the fact that it's supposed to be worked with two strands, not just one. Ah well, the cat adores the first attempt, so it's been willed to him as the new cat blankie. (Not that he doesn't already own all of my fleece blankets too, but sometimes you need variety I guess.)
