While reading a story on CNN.com about kimono designers moving to computers for design work, I caught a Google ad for
Kimono Flea Market Ichiroya and figured I'd check it out. Lots of
gorgeous things I
can't afford. *drool* (Plus, I've got a kimono that's been unworn so far, no need for more at the moment.) I did end up with a silk
haori for under $40 before shipping. The customer service so far has been outstanding; I got an immediate confirmation that my order had been received, and within an hour I'd gotten a follow-up message confirming that the item was being held for me and giving me the payment instructions; they even sent along wishes that Ivan was not causing too many problems for me. After sending payment, I got another message not long afterwards thanking me and letting me know that the package would ship on Monday because they're closed on Sunday. None of the messages have been completely form mail other than the original order confirmation from the site, there's always been a personal note included. So far I am extremely pleased with my dealings with them, and don't foresee any problems getting the package based on the promptness of their responses. I suspect that at some point I'll probably order from them again; if I do, I'll post and see if anyone else wants to get in on an order and combine the shipping.
