Jan. 12th, 2004 03:48 pmToday is Boomtime, day 12 in the season of Chaos, 3270.
I like this meme (put your entire playlist on random and list the first ten songs that come up) seen most recently in
tafkar's journal, since sucking all my mp3s into a playlist and hitting shuffle is usually a good source of amusement for me. I don't have quite as much music on this machine, so I may miss out on some of the more bizarre combinations I've seen.
1.) Jane Wiedlin - Messy (I haven't listened to this in a long time. I bought the CD because she was always my favorite Go-Go and she's wearing a faboo corset on the cover. Yeah, I'm a sucker for good cover art.)
2.) Beth Orton - Central Reservation (I adore Beth.)
3.) Alex Chilton - Guantan Amerika (Live)
4.) Talvin Singh - Eclipse
5.) Emmylou Harris - Lost Unto This World (I also adore Emmylou.)
6.) Apollo 440 - Stop the Rock (Well, that was a jarring transition.)
7.) Mediaeval Baebes - Cantiga (And that was another one.)
8.) Arthur Loves Plastic - No Nations, No People (You should all go run and check out Bev at http://www.arthurlovesplastic.com/ . Really.)
9.) Joe Hisaishi - Catbus (From the "My Neighbor Totoro" soundtrack; I want my own catbus.)
10.) Richard Cheese - Holiday in Cambodia (Wrong. Utterly wrong. So UNBELIEVABLY wrong. I love it.)
That's not actually as disturbing a playlist as I've come up with from time to time at home, where I have a bunch more stuff; I should try this again there.
