Good way to start the morning: being called and told to work at home today because the office parking lot is a sheet of ice just seconds before heading outside to start up and clean the snow off your car. Good thing I was running a little later than I'd meant to be. It looks like someone shook up a snowglobe outside right now, and the cat is overjoyed that I've got the window open so he can watch it up close and personal. (Why yes, all the equipment running in this little room does make it a wee bit toasty in here.)

Oooh. Linked from [livejournal.com profile] languagelog:

Bletchley Park in the Lateral Interparietal Cortex

If you're a fan of Alan Turing, and interested in the work at Bletchley Park on the Enigma decryption, and also interested in models of perception and models of learning, then this paper will bring it all together for you -- Banburismus and the Brain: Decoding the Relationship between Sensory Stimuli, Decisions, and Reward, by Joshua Gold and Michael Shadlen.

Must not wander off to read that right now, must do actual work first.

Who, me? *blink* Forgive me, I don't do these all that often, but I ran across one more bizarre quiz thing I couldn't resist )
