Dec. 22nd, 2003 12:03 amToday is Setting Orange, day 63 in the season of The Aftermath, 3269.
If you must be in the very first row of a theater for RotK, at least it should be done in a swank new theater with big, cushy leather seats. Actually the seats weren't so bad, except that at least one of the sweeping shots up Minas Tirith made me a little queasy because I was sitting so close, and frankly I did NOT need to be quite so up close and personal to Shelob. *twitch* Too bad I kept getting something in my eye during the movie, like during Pippin's song over the particular scene it accompanied (no, I was not bawling like a baby during that scene, you're misinformed; there was something in my eye), the conversation between Faramir and Denethor, the lighting of the beacons, and the leavetaking at the end, among a few others; there was apparently a lot of debris flying around the theater. *cough* You know, I don't care if they're not completely true to the books, I adore these movies and can't wait to see the extended edition of this one with everything they had to leave out. (Jackson said in an interview they had to cut about an hour and 5 minutes.)
By the way, if anyone's still needing ideas for a Christicekwaannukahmas gift for me, I'll take a set of these, please. That is almost enough to make me want to write some slash. ;)
