Today is Setting Orange, day 5 in the season of Chaos, 3269.
It is the sacred Apostle Holyday of Mungday.

Well, that was a good way to waste the day. I was intending to go to my boss' house for an impromptu gathering this afternoon, but I somehow managed to not wake up today until quarter to four. Sheesh. Very little has been accomplished today thanks to eleven hours of sleep, although I guess I needed it. I managed to go indulge in a wee bit of retail therapy by spending part of a gift certificate at Victoria's Secret, where I got a bunch of funky tights (including some nifty chenille fishnets in shades of blue) for cheap. Maybe tomorrow I'll get something done, but tonight I'm just going to watch more Trading Spaces (I am really loving the red toile on the walls in Hildi's design, and I normally hate everything she does). I did note in the new lease that they don't say I can't paint, I just have to ask them first. I wonder if I could staple fabric to the walls instead. Hmm...

Hm. Forecast for today was "snow possible in the afternoon"; I woke up at noon to find that in fact it probably had been snowing for an hour at least, the ground was already covered. It's still coming down pretty hard, but they don't expect more than three inches total. (The forecast on the weather channel still says "Chance of snow 60%, less than an inch accumulation." Heh. We've already got more than that. Update! Update! Don't drink soap! OK!) Unfortunately I had a bunch of things I wanted to accomplish outside the house today, and at the moment I'm not feeling inclined to go out in the car. I can tell they haven't salted or plowed the roads yet, visibility isn't great, and I will freely admit that I don't have nearly enough experience driving in snow to want to go out if I don't need to. On the other hand, if I'm staying home today that gives me inspiration to do things like take down the Christmas tree and clean up the office a bit. That will help keep me distracted and not thinking about things that are making me a little blue. Or...I could go sledding on the big hill next door on the TRWNorthrop Grumman campus if I can find a suitable "sliding down a big hill" piece of equipment. If I go buy a sled, it will guarantee that we won't get any more snow for the rest of the winter.

fluff!

Okay, enough bitchiness for now, at least until I can take it up with the people who are driving me bugf*ck. I was asked today if I needed these, and I couldn't come up with a good, definitive answer. (Very unlike me to be unsure about whether I need boots or not.) What think y'all?
