Today is Pungenday, day 45 in the season of Discord, 3268.

It's 10:30 and still pretty dark outside; what happened to the partly sunny in the morning forecast? Today I give up and go back to the higher doses of sam-e I think; I've been trying to lower my dose to 200mg/day from 400, and I think that overlaps with the time I started feeling off-kilter. And given how dreary today is and the mood I've been in since yesterday, it's high-dosage brain drugs day I believe. I suppose I'll change my plans from going to wander around the botanical gardens to maybe wandering around McKay's used book/music store. Maybe the one in Manassas which has a fuzzy black store cat. The original plan was to go out with E. and R. on their sailboat and watch a bit of the Volvo Ocean Race as it left Annapolis, but that's pretty much not happening thanks to the weather. So very little has gone as hoped this weekend.

Crazy toys in the attic i am crazy truly gone fishing they must have taken my marbles away</i

Today is Pungenday, day 45 in the season of Discord, 3268.

So this weekend I did what I often do when I'm not feeling entirely right: went to a bookstore. Of course I didn't buy any books (as I've got two, no three still on the stack of things to be read), but I got some music. I used the Borders gift card I got for my birthday to buy a copy of Bust with Lili Taylor (yum) on the cover and the new Rasputina CD. Today's rainy, dreary day was countered with a trip to McKay's with a self-imposed limit of $25 where I picked up Robbie Robertson's "Music for The Native Americans", "Soundtracks for the Blind" by the Swans, Shaï no Shaï 's "Human Condition" and an Aural Gratification compilation for the Happy Rhodes tracks. None too shabby, all things considered. It probably says something when I'm okay with not having extra cash to buy lunch during the week if it means I can have new music, no?. And when I left the store, the sun was out and the birds were singing and all was right with the world. Okay, so the sun was out, the rest of it might be a wee bit of exaggeration. Especially as I came home to discover that we were under a tornado watch for most of the afternoon, heh. Tonight, I plan to try to find an exceptionally cheap hotel somewhere near one of the beaches where I can disappear for a day or two and try to sort things out from something resembling a distance.
