Who's Your 80s Movie Icon Alter-Ego? Find out @ She's Crafty

Heh. I like it. It's got that it's-a-cruel-world-let's-throw-ourselves-in-the-abyss type ambience.

At least today was better. Got a fair amount accomplished at work, got a couple months worth of heads-up on a major undertaking that's coming my way soon for the web site, and then had a lovely dinner with friends. Didn't get a return call about repairing the windshield yet though, so I'm not going to drive my car tomorrow either. And yesterday someone sent me a ping at just the right time, thank you so much. Greatly appreciated. =) Perhaps I'll go wander downtown this weekend to ogle the cherry blossoms if I feel motivated enough to leave the house.

I had a brief moment in Denver on Wednesday where I thought that I could just not reboard the plane, go rent a car and drive into the mountains for a while, but practical considerations prevailed and I resisted the urge. Not sure what's up with the wanting to wander off these days, but it's definitely lurking there in the back of the brain.

Today is Boomtime, day 9 in the season of Discord, 3168.

Today's already off to a wonderful start - I slept until 2 pm. Ugh. Went to sleep at 3:45 or so and slept like the dead. Between now and 7:30 or so I have to clean the living room, do laundry from my trip (at least there's not a lot of it), weigh in and get lectured about gaining a pound and a half, adjust the meal plan to get rid of the stuff I absolutely will not eat (like "spinach tofu pasta"), print out my grocery list, go to the grocery store, figure out why I never got an appointment scheduled to fix my windshield, shower, and then go meet some friends for sushi. I don't think there's enough time for all that. At least I have a vase full of purple tulips, which makes me happy. I'm going to start buying myself flowers on a regular basis as I can't persuade anyone else to do so. =)

It's incredible how much time you can spend reading the Daily fact I learned from the TV archive (from the guy who did the Laid Off movie, which you must see now if you haven't already).

Caddyshack was on the TV today. It's one of those movies that is impossible to turn off no matter when it's on. You literally cannot change the channel. You just have to settle in and accept it. There are only a few movies like that. Unturnoffable.
