yay for girlie days
Jan. 7th, 2001 07:06 pmAllison, Keren, Heather and a couple of Heather's friends and I decided to do a girls' day out and hit Pentagon City Mall this afternoon for the combined Holy Grail of a newish Sephora and a MAC store (not just the Nordstrom's counter). We all noted that we hadn't spent a day hanging out in a mall with a bunch of friends since we were teenagers. Whee! I was a good girl and didn't buy anything in MAC, but I got suckered into an Anna Sui gift set at Sephora with a nailpolish, blotting papers and a small bottle of cologne in the most adorable lunchbox. I'm a sucker for stuff packaged in lunchboxes. =) We all traipsed over to Betsey Johnson after Sephora so Allison could use the gift certificate we gave her for Xmas, and she came away with a gorgeous velvet and lace and beaded dress. The rest of us all sat on the sofa there and muttered about how if Allison is a "large" in that store, the rest of us are just hopeless. What I found particularly funny was that in the magazine rack in Betsey Johnson, they had a copy of the latest issue of Mode. Now if only they'd get some *clothes* that would fit us Mode babes, we'd be all set.
Saw "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" last night. What a gorgeous movie. Mmm, Chow Yun-Fat. Mmmm, Michelle Yeoh. Keren and I agreed that it was so great to see a movie where the women kick just as much ass as the men, and actually more so.
The plot was thin (it wasn't quite complex enough to justify a 120 minute movie), but visually it was wonderful.
