materialistic glee!
Dec. 23rd, 2000 02:23 pmWe did an early holiday present exchange last night with almost all of our friends. I got quite the haul. I got a ton of Hello Kitty stuff, including a stuffed kitty in a blue coat with reindeer antlers on, and some Powerpuff Girls stuff, and the new scale that I asked for (complete with BMI readings). But my big scores for the evening were: Alice and a brand new Voodoo card so that I can play it, the Tenchi Muyo OVA box set, and the Princess Mononoke DVD. And M. found me the shirt that I'd wanted a few months ago that had disappeared: it says "And one time, at band camp..." *snicker* I'm feeling utterly spoiled. =)
And it seems that I did well on presents for other people, which makes me just as happy as getting so much nifty stuff. M. liked his presents (I was unsure about the stained glass). C. found something he was going to buy that I'd have never known about (a Korg EA-1), so I bought it for him and made him a very happy boy. We had a funny moment yesterday afternoon when he handed me a stuffed Ryo-ohki as one of my presents. I had to go dig under the tree and pull out a bag for him, so he could open the stuffed Ryo-ohki I got for him. They were so hard to find that I was sure he wouldn't get me the same thing. I was wrong. =)
I have a couple presents I have to mail off to A. and BP, but it's obviously going to wait until after Xmas. One of the things that was supposed to be here sometime around last Monday didn't appear until Friday and so there was no way it would make it in time for Xmas anyway. Might as well hold off and avoid the swarming hordes of people at the post office.
I'm finally (as of yesterday) in the mood for Xmas. Lighting up the tree, putting on CDs of holiday music, etc. etc. Having a bunch of friends over last night was really fun; Keren brought along a menorah and named us honorary Jews after the candles were lit. ;) I should get busy reinstalling my camera software so I can download pictures from the camera.
