retail therapy yet again

I found something I always said I wanted yesterday in our trek out to Lakeforest Mall. (Are you sure it isn't Fair Oaks? Yeesh, they're frighteningly identical.) Well, what I really wanted was a live one that would sit on my bookshelf and go "meep" at me, but this is as close as I'm likely to get.





Bad Cathy, must stay out of comic stores. I picked up Goldie, and caught up with some stuff missing from my collections - the new "Lenore", an older "Gloomcookie" that I didn't have yet, and a couple of "Dork Tower" issues that I was missing - before I managed to rein in the credit card.

I've not got one of them yet. Although I did pick up the rather wonderful plush Delirium (and fish). Now, if they'll just do the cat from Transmetropolitan...

We have Delirium and Death as well. They and the Grinch were alternating as Xmas tree toppers. ;)

I deliberatly stayed away from anything collectivle-sandman.

But I did order from Hot Topic the stuffed Gir. Bad girl...no biscut?

We went to the Hot Topic at Dulles Town Center yesterday to see if they had the stuffed GIR too, but all they had were Zims. And the tshirt which has GIR and "I'm advanced!" on the front and the "It's not stupid...it's ADVANCED!" scene on the back. I am proud of myself for resisting at least that much. =) I think I merit maybe a quarter of a biscuit.

I ordered my Gir from the web...do you mean to tell me they actually have Zim plushies in the store?

I may have to take a ride out there this week.

Yep. I guess I just happened to have been there last right before they arrived so I saw them on the web first. The Dulles store only had Zim (no GIR) when we were there on Sunday, but there were several of them hanging on the wall just past the CD racks. I think there's a Hot Topic in the Springfield Mall too which might be more convenient (or closer, at any rate).

Springfield is certainly closer-not quite on the way home, but that's okay. Everything is closer than Dulles Town Center-even Potomac Mills.

Perhaps a driveby to Springfield is a good idea...unless Zim plushies appear on the website.

Online shopping is your friend, sometimes. Sometimes there's just no substitute for fondling the real thing.
