One of the most horrifying things I've heard so far was the Gallup poll they reported on last night. The things that I find most disgusting are:

Requiring Arabs, including those who are U.S. citizens, to undergo special, more intensive security checks before boarding airplanes in the U.S. -- Support: 58%; Oppose: 41%

Requiring Arabs, including those who are U.S. citizens, to carry a special ID-- Support: 49%; Oppose: 49%

They also mention that 32% of Americans think Arabs living in this country should be put under special surveillance as were Japanese-Americans following Pearl Harbor. Yes, the majority is still against that, but that's a disturbingly high percentage in favor of it to me. Hmm, wanting Arab-Americans to carry special ID. Doesn't that kind of thing sound familiar? =/ If it becomes official government policy (please let them not be that moronic), I'm getting the hell out of dodge. I hear Montreal is nice, except for in the winter.

I mean I don't see us making any Irish Americans wear special IDs and probably a similar percentage of all Irish are IRA terroists, right?
