Question of the day

Do I wait and see Star Trek at the 9:45 PM show Saturday at the IMAX theater at Udvar-Hazy (assuming I snag tickets before it sells out), or do I go to Tyson's on Friday night? This is an IMPORTANT DECISION, people.

If you're me (which you're not), you don't even go near a theatre on opening weekend. ;-)

Some people like IMAX. For me, it makes me nauseated. Nothing I've ever seen in an IMAX theatre has ever made me want to go to another.

The reviewers are giving the new Star Trek movie good reviews. I was a big fan of the original series, but when watching the first season of ST:TNG turned into an exercise in trying to see how fast I could identify which original series episode they were ripping off I lost interest. I've watched some of the later season episodes and they were amusing, but nothing that really attracted me. First Contact was pretty good, but at this point I doubt I'll even see this new movie in the theatre, let alone make a big deal of going to the premiere.

I turned down a chance at a free ticket yesterday myself (they were giving 2:40pm Friday tickets away to NASA employees yesterday at the Ames gift shop) because I didn't want to go by myself.

My vote's for IMAX -- I'd thought about organizing a small gathering to Udvar-Hazy, but never actually did anything about it. We have no childcare for this weekend, and I'm not the kind of person to go to movies by myself, so I'd pretty much given up on seeing it opening weekend. But if someone else I know will be there, my arm could very easily be twisted... :)

Well, the last remaining Saturday show sold out for this weekend just as I was clicking on it. D'oh! Sunday afternoon shows are available, but otherwise it's just 4:45 on Friday afternoon.
