Even if there were other choices, I'd probably vote for Ybor City based entirely on this. Does this mean that Tampa is, in fact, more sinister than Orlando?

There is a kick-ass Cuban restaurant in Ybor City, if you end up going. Let me know, and I'll see if I can fly down and hang out -- my mom lives in St. Pete.

When I lived in FL I was always surprised at the strength of the goth community. Tampa actually has more than one "goth" club and more than one store to shop at (and its not Hot Topic). Orlando also has quite the community and they have a number of stores as well.

I lurve the Tampa area. Lots of fun restaurants and things to do and see.
Lowry Park Zoo totally rocks. Lutz isn't far away, and is where they
filmed the street scenes in Edward Scissorhands.
