Could any San Diego peeps tell me anything about the neighborhood the Staybridge Suites Downtown at 1110 A St. is in? (As in, is it an area you'd feel safe walking around at night in?)

Awwww.... (pouts). Anything that would bring you within 500 miles would generally be anticipatable.

Looking at the Google map of the area, it's right on the edge of Balboa Park. It's not really a safe night walking area, for that you'd want to be closer to the Gaslamp Quarter, which has a lot of nightclubs, etc. It wouldn't be a long cab ride to that area though.

Thanks! I'd seen a couple of reviews since I posted saying that the area was kind of sketchy. (I read it on the Intarweb, so it must be true! ;))

Yeah, well, travel is not highest on my list of priorities at the moment, unfortunately. (To the point where I'm wondering if I have to cancel plans to go to Vegas for my birthday.)
