It's funny, I was thinking much the same as I was listening to a collection of love songs yesterday, as I drove fruitlessly back and forth to Montgomery Village. I don't think I mentally phrased it as charmingly as that, and the music probably doesn't compare to Colonna's poetry, but it did strike me that, somehow, musical expression of love can sometimes be more sublime than the love itself.
Thank you for pointing that out. I've added him to my friends list, as his life and career seems quite interesting -- and this post of his stirred some thoughts to the surface about my own relationships that were useful revelations.
