geekchick: (insomnia)

Today is Sweetmorn, day 54 in the season of The Aftermath, 3269.

I think I'll use the "insomnia" icon for this one, although it's not quite the reason I'm already awake and still dead tired. I went to bed at 3:15, and by 8:30 my Robitussin had worn off and the cat was sitting on my chest to try to get me to wake up and pay attention to him. I refilled Fuzzy Lumpkin's food bowl (he panics when he can see the bottom of the bowl), took some more Robitussin and tried to go back to sleep. Unfortunately there was too much light and C. was snoring, so I couldn't manage to go back to sleep. So now I'm up, showered, and am waiting for my hair to dry so that I can go do some shopping for C. while he's asleep. Oooh, maybe I'll take myself and "Quicksilver" over to Silver Diner for some breakfast while I'm out. I need to box up my Wintermas swap stuff and send it out today, and figure out how best to send my nieces' and nephews' presents to them. Today shall be "deal with the post office and clean the house since we're having people over next weekend" day, I think.

Oh, for those following along with my rant from a couple of days ago: Ventolin inhaler at CVS: $52. (I did refrain from yelling "Are you people on CRACK??!!??" at the pharmacy assistant, and although I said they could use a generic and the doctor didn't check that they needed to fill as written, they apparently either didn't have the generic or just didn't give it to me.)

$52 for Ventolin? Wow. I gues your plan does not cover prescriptions?

The kicker is that in 1994 (which is admittedly ten years ago, but I don't think the prices would have changed that much -- it's an old drug) you could buy it in Mexico for $3 -7$.

I miss the Silver Diner!!!! Neat place

"Quicksilver"????? I think I was on the short bus the day that one was explained (I'm assuming you are talking about the 4 wheeled Geek-sled, but I thought it was a gold or along that color line).

And that was $4 cash, not a copay or deductible... we bought five. No wonder that more and more people are buying meds from Canada or Mexico...

BTW, as long as you're up until 3am anyway... (smile)
