Dec. 9th, 2003 02:32 pmToday is Pungenday, day 51 in the season of The Aftermath, 3269.
Thanks to those who listened to me whine about being sick last night, I appreciate it it greatly. As an indicator of how crappy I felt yesterday, I actually broke down and made a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. Those of you who know me can figure out that I must've been feeling pretty bad. (Hey, one step at a time; now that I've gotten around to making an appointment with the GP, maybe next I can make appointments with the two other doctors I need to see. No dentist yet though, as I need to see if anyone in my plan can handle people with phobias plus I probably need $10K or so worth of work done and I'm sure insurance won't cover most of it.) Today is a little better so far because I've finally gotten one room in the house where the humidity is over 40%; too bad I can't spend all day in my bedroom. Oh wait, I'm on vacation and I have a laptop, I can spend all day in the bedroom. I'll still be bored out of my mind, but at least I'll be able to breathe.

Date: 2003-12-09 11:52 am (UTC)How much does a humidifier help with this, or taking a bath? Any? Anything to make you comfortable...

Date: 2003-12-09 11:56 am (UTC)I sometimes run the shower as hot as it will go for a while, and sort of let the steam go.
Alternatively, sometimes a heating pad on my back helps some.

Date: 2003-12-09 12:09 pm (UTC)A bath doesn't help so much, but a hot shower does. I sat in the bathroom for half an hour last night with the shower turned up as hot as it would go and the door closed. Humidifiers help theoretically, but we either need to get additional ones or just bigger ones; the humidity on average in this place hasn't gone above 35% for a week, even with the humidifiers on (without, the living room is more like 29%).
