Today is Pungenday, day 51 in the season of The Aftermath, 3269.

Thanks to those who listened to me whine about being sick last night, I appreciate it it greatly. As an indicator of how crappy I felt yesterday, I actually broke down and made a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. Those of you who know me can figure out that I must've been feeling pretty bad. (Hey, one step at a time; now that I've gotten around to making an appointment with the GP, maybe next I can make appointments with the two other doctors I need to see. No dentist yet though, as I need to see if anyone in my plan can handle people with phobias plus I probably need $10K or so worth of work done and I'm sure insurance won't cover most of it.) Today is a little better so far because I've finally gotten one room in the house where the humidity is over 40%; too bad I can't spend all day in my bedroom. Oh wait, I'm on vacation and I have a laptop, I can spend all day in the bedroom. I'll still be bored out of my mind, but at least I'll be able to breathe.

WIFI can be useful. Just don't drop the laptop into the tub.

I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well lately. I'm happy to hear you are seeing an doctor and hope you get the help you need.

How much does a humidifier help with this, or taking a bath? Any? Anything to make you comfortable...

You could try the bathroom...

I sometimes run the shower as hot as it will go for a while, and sort of let the steam go.

Alternatively, sometimes a heating pad on my back helps some.

You could try making an old fashioned croup tent-that might help some.

Do you have a vaporizer, too? We run one next to the bed at night, sometimes, or, if home sick, will even set it up in the living room next to wherever one of us is sitting.

Good luck with the doctor, and let us know how it goes, dear one. I'm with the other folks who have suggested a nebulizer -- that may indeed help, and I know it helped Rivka when she was having trouble breathing.

*hugs*
